The Speech/Debate Organization of Spring Woods High School is a very competitive program which competes locally, across Texas and nationally. AND it's not just debate!

There are acting events and public speaking events too. Victoria Beard has been the director of Forensics for 18 years. For the past 12 years, we have qualified for UIL State in speech & debate.

SWHS Debate has had 2 UIL state champions and many finalists. Our team competes at locally as well as at Harvard, Yale, Glenbrooks (in Chicago) and has had a Harvard champion and many finalists at all these tournaments. At the Texas Forensic Association’s State Tournament, our team has had many finalists and 3 champions. At the Tournament of Champions, held in Lexington, Kentucky, Spring Woods Speech & Debate has had 2 champions as well as many finalists.
